ARTHOS at the AICA EMEA regional meeting in South Africa
This year’s meeting of AICA members from Europe, Middle East and Africa took place in Cape Town to discuss new international M&A projects and improve business collaboration among AICA member firms. “Out of Africa” was this year’s theme – the AICA member Mercantec Capital from South Africa hosted the meeting in Cape Town, Africa’s third main economic hub city. More than 30 M&A deal makers from 16 different AICA EMEA member firms attended the meeting.
As always ARTHOS contributed to the event, this time by Arne Tödt co-moderating the overall event and taking charge of individual sessions and Arno Pätzold holding a presentation and leading the discussion regarding fee sharing.
The regular meetings and face to face interactions with the representatives of the AICA member firms are extremely beneficial in making AICA a strong alliance to successfully close cross border deals. At the AICA EMEA regional meeting in South Africa, M&A professionals discussed current M&A transactions and future projects as well as improved collaboration tools. Furthermore, external guest speakers held presentations, one-to-one sessions took place and the industry focus groups like IT, Consumer Goods and Industrials shared the insights and deal opportunities in break-out sessions. The working sessions were complemented by excellent networking opportunities in stunning beach restaurants and night life locations as well as visits to Cape Town’s sights before and after the event with colleagues.
ARTHOS is a committed partner of the Alliance of International Corporate Advisors (AICA) and that’s why ARTHOS partners participate in all AICA meetings. Since 2014, Arne Tödt has been an active member of AICA’s board of directors, which he has lead as chairman since 2016. Arno Pätzold is presently leading a task force that focus on further improving the international collaboration rules of the AICA alliance. AICA comprises above 40 owner-managed M&A consultancy firms at more than 50 different locations around the world. As part of this exclusive global alliance, ARTHOS is able to offer its clients M&A consulting services worldwide by involving international experienced, knowledgeable local partners. In 2017 e.g. our Swedish AICA partner Evli supported ARTHOS with the execution of the sale of MaxxVision to Indutrade.
The next AICA meeting will be the Global Meeting in May 2018, to be held in Miami, Florida, United States.
