AICA Global Meeting in Miami, USA

ARTHOS Managing Partner participated in the global M&A conference
The annual AICA global meeting took place from 17 - 19 May 2018 in Miami with the overall theme “cooperation and collaboration”. The AICA member ALPAX hosted the meeting in Miami, Florida, an economic major centre, leading in finance, commerce and international trade. More than 50 M&A deal makers from above 40 different AICA member firms attended the meeting.

The overriding theme of this year’s AICA global meeting was “cooperation and collaboration”. The long-term success of AICA is due to the commitment of AICA members to invest time and resources to strengthen relationships, share deals and knowledge. That’s why the level of deal co-operations among AICA members is continuously increasing across all continents for the benefit of the member’s clients. Besides collaborating on leads and ongoing M&A transactions amongst AICA member firms one of the main topics was an overview of the US M&A midmarket provided by AICA president Pat Crocker from MHT Partner complemented by insights into new M&A related changes in US tax regulations shared by an external guest speaker. Furthermore, the presentation of the AICA website relaunch (www.aicanetwork.com) and the review of implementing adjusted Fee Sharing Guidelines led by Arno Pätzold were presented, one-to-one speed dating sessions amongst AICA firm deal makers took place and the industry groups discussed sector specific M&A projects and market trends.

The overall AICA General Meeting was chaired by Arne Tödt who provided an overview of last year’s key activities supported by the co-operation committees and lead the election process of a new AICA board of directors. Besides the conference sessions during the day, there were excellent networking opportunities during gala dinners and while discovering the vibrant and exciting City of Miami at night.

ARTHOS is a committed partner of the Alliance of International Corporate Advisors (AICA) and that’s why ARTHOS partners participate in all AICA meetings. From 2014 to 2018, Arne Tödt has been a member of AICA’s board of directors, which he has led as chairman from May 2016 to May 2018. Arno Pätzold was leading a task force which improved the international collaboration rules between the AICA members. AICA comprises of over 40 owner-managed M&A advisory firms at more than 50 different locations around the world. As part of this exclusive global alliance, ARTHOS is able to offer its clients M&A advisory services worldwide by involving international experienced, knowledgeable local partners.
